A pleasing example of this New Orleans Mint Half Eagle, that is priced on the low side of the Trends for a Mint State 60 coin of $950 and a Mint State 62 coin of $2250!
An unbelievable price for this AU coin. There is a small rim bump on the obverse at six o'clock which keeps this coin in the four digit price range! Trends is $12,000 and the CU list is $15,000!
A rarity in any condition, this coin unfornately has a 1/2 inch scratch on the reverse above the eagle's head which keeps it from the NGC holder. Only six coins have been graded by either NGC or PCGS in Mint State and all are the low Mint State 61 grade. Well struck for a New Orleans Mint coin with plenty of luster remaining, this coin would make any Eagle collection proud!
A few field marks as can be associated with the grade, but the overall appearance and coloring is sure to appease even the most finicky! The Collector's Universe list is $1450.
